A few time ago Jenya asked me if I would like to join a group of ladies to prepare a surprise to Annalisa, the person behind the Puperita Patterns and I promptly said yes. I believe that hard work should always be rewarded and besides, Annalisa is always so supportive in the Facebook group, that it is deserved. 🙂
I’ve used one of Puperita patterns before and those shorts got a lot of use. At the same time, I also bought a pattern to make a top that I didn’t had the chance to try before. I guess it was about time!!
The pattern is the “Liberty Style Blouse”, that is available from size 3 to 10 years old. How could I resist those cute butterfly sleeves?
For M, I made a size 5 and lengthened the bottom part to a size 6 as we still have a few months before Summer and I don’t want to take risks, just in case she decide to have a growth spurt. I really like the way it fits her. 🙂
The construction is simple but with a great care with nice finishing. In fact, I am the one who failed here! The instructions say to finish the sleeves’ bias by hand and I didn’t. I am not a handstitch fan, but I love the way it looks and am willing to do it. In this particular case I skipped it because I don’t think it would turn out any better due to my clumsiness while working with such a lightweight fabric.
The fabric used is a Clare & Emily Liberty Lawn from here and a white cotton broderie anglaise for the bow, to make some contrast.
Don’t forget to check all the lovely creations! I’ve loved what I’ve seen so far. 😉
Say “Cheese!!”
Thank you Jenya, Emi and Kate for organising! 🙂
Hope you enjoyed your surprise Annalisa! 🙂
