A pink dress but not for the girls!

Although we are still having cold weather, my mood is already in Spring. I only want to sew for the warmer days and use some colourful fabrics to cheer me up while helping me going through the rest of the cold. Nothing better than a dress to start the wardrobe for the upcoming season!

The pattern I choose is the Arum from Deer and Doe and it is quite a simple and fast project but nonetheless very satisfying, which make it great for someone that want to start sewing for herself.

The pattern includes princess seams at the back, kimono sleeves and can be made as a dress or as a blouse. The instructions are good (available in English) and unlike most part of the French patterns, the seam allowances are included.

I made a size 34 and according to my measurements graded to a 36 at the hips, but to be honest I don’t think I needed and next time I won’t grade it as there was enough room.

The fabric is a beautiful Nani Iro En Garden from here that was asking me to be used. When I say it is a beautiful print, I really mean it as I bought it in three different colours! So you might see a few other things around here with this print. 😉
