Autumn is truly here! The days are shorter… and colder, but the colours are beautiful and bright. To be honest, I don’t like cold, but I do like the baking and snuggling in the sofa with my girls and watch a film, so… not all is bad.

I started sewing for F because this girl had a growth spurt and she had barely nothing to wear! My plan is to share a couple more outfits, but for now I would like to share the Ida blouse I’ve made for her.

The Ida is a newly released pattern from Ikatee in collaboration with the French blogger Petite Choses, with a Victorian vibe that I, as you might already be aware, particularly admire.

The pattern offers several options, dress or blouse, long sleeve or short sleeve and can be made both in woven or knit, with a size range from 3 up to 12 years old.

I made the blouse version, with long sleeves and ruffled neckline in size 9, based on F’s height and I think it fits her good.

The blouse closes at the back and I made a button loop. I did try to use elastic but it turned out too bulky and I did not like how it looked. Next time I will use a ribbon. Yes, I already have another one cut 😊

This is the first time I’ve used an Ikatee pattern and I liked it. The instructions, although in French (I think there will be an English version soon), are clear and there are also videos available if necessary. Also, the seam allowances are included.

The fabric used is a shirt weight/poplin bought 3 or 4 years ago in Portugal. I’m glad plaids are back and I can use the fabric.

From the same collaboration, there is another pattern that I would like to try, the Louise blouse and dress and maybe, the ladies version that will also be available. 😉
