Christmas Dresses

Christmas is gone already, the year is almost gone as well. Time looks like sometimes just fly by and at the same time looks like an eternity!! Not sure if you share the same thought but that is how I feel most time

As last year I made the dresses for the girls to wear on Christmas Day. I had plans to make not only the dresses for the girls but also a dress for myself and nightgowns but well, maybe later…

I will just talk about what I actually made and the pattern I used is the view B of the Ruthie dress by Children’s Corner in size 5 for both girls with a few changes to fit the girls. So, for M I shortened the skirt by 2 inches and for F I lengthened the sleeves by 1 inch. I really like the way they turned out and the fit.

The fabric I used is a very soft Liberty Rossmore Cord in Betsy Ann print, from here, that M said it is not a Christmas fabric! I think she believes that Christmas fabric has to be plaid, but the colours of this fabric sure are Christmassy enough and I love how the pattern and fabric worked together 🙂

Although the pattern includes instructions to add ric-rac I opted to add some lace to the sleeves and collar and love the way how it turned out.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas 🙂

Thank you so much Emi 🙂 It is funny how the girls associate the plaid fabric with Christmas immediately! Yes, I do love lace although I am not sure for how long I will be able to use it for the girls as they are growing fast and becoming more opinionated 😉
