Garden Party Dress

Some time ago the girls got invited for a Garden Party that reminded me that actually I do have a pattern named Garden Party, so it was about time to try it.

The pattern as I mentioned is the Garden Party Dress and Blouse, once again from Oliver + S. It’s such an elegant dress, perfect for a party and… we will have a few during the holidays. I made a size 5 for Little Lady M with no changes to the pattern and I used a navy blue cotton lawn with a Tom Liberty Tana Lawn (that was picked by her sister!) for the waistband, front yoke and covered button.

I confess it took me some time to decide whether to make the dress or the blouse and although the blouse combined with shorts would be more practical, the truth is I’ve been making a lot more blouses and tunics than dresses lately, because I was expecting that some of the dresses from last year would still fit them. However, it looks like I am not that lucky, especially with Little Lady F and for that reason I went for the dress. I’m glad I did it because I really love the way it turned out and M loves it as well (she always love dresses more than blouses or tunics 😉 )

All that M does this days is dancing, singing and daydreaming… She really lives in a world of her own!

As for Little lady F she also got a lovely dress to match her sister, that I hope to be able to share in a few days 😉

Wish you a great week 🙂

Thank you so much Emi 🙂 It made me happy that she also loved it despite not being pink, but I think the navy blue makes it, some how, a bit more formal 😉

Thank you so much Ana Sofia 🙂 I agree with you about this pattern, I also love it! I loved the versions I’ve seen before (specially yours) but after making it, I like it even more 😉

Thank you so much 🙂 The fabric is a solid so I thought some floral print would add some interest. I am glad you liked it 🙂
