Kid’s Clothes Week is gone and I thought I deserved a dress for myself (good excuse!). This pattern was the first one I bought for myself a few of months ago, but I have been avoiding doing it because it is more fitted and I wanted to practice a little more before finally making it 🙂

The pattern is “The Ultimate Shift Dress” from Sew Over It. This pattern can be made not only has a dress but also as a top or tunic with sleeves or sleeveless with neck frill or facing. I choose the dress with sleeve frill.

I made a size 8 with no changes to the original. I think the darts (coincidently) were in the right place which is good because I don’t know yet how to move them and I am happy with the overall fit. The only thing I would like to change is the armhole construction which I will have to think about it next time!

The fabric is Pepper Liberty and I was after a look that would not be too much “I’m on holidays” or “I’m going to a party” and I think I got it 😉
